Scarab Sweepers founded by Rodger Hoadley.

1979

Company Founded

Scarab Sweepers founded by Rodger Hoadley.
The Scarab MK.1 mechanical road sweeper with donkey engine introduced. A Lombardini engine was used to power hydraulics.

1980

Scarab MK.1

The Scarab MK.1 mechanical road sweeper with an auxiliary engine is introduced (a Lombardini engine was used to power hydraulics).
The Scarab Minor based on the Multicar M25 chassis was introduced.

1984

Minor Launched

The Scarab Minor, based on the Multicar M25 chassis, was introduced.
The Scarab Major 3000, our first single-engine hydrostatic truck-mounted sweeper.

1988

Single Engine Launch

The Scarab Major 3000, our first single-engine hydrostatic truck-mounted sweeper, is launched.
The Scarab "Hydrostatic" Minor was introduced with Ford Engine and Ford Running Gear on a Scarab Chassis.

1991

Hydrostatic Minor Launch

The Scarab "Hydrostatic" Minor was introduced with a Ford engine and Ford running gear on a Scarab chassis.
The Scarab Major 7000 introduced on DAF 50 Chassis.

1992

Major 7000

The Scarab Major 7000 is introduced on DAF 50 Chassis.
By now the Major products were built on a wide choice of chassis - Iveco, DAF, Volvo, Mercedes etc.

1993

Chassis Range Grows

By now the Major products were built on a wide choice of chassis - Iveco, DAF, Volvo, Mercedes etc.
The Scarab Euro Minor was launched. Now using a VW Diesel engine to power the sweeper and sweep gear.

1996

Euro Minor Launch

The Scarab Euro Minor was launched - now using a VW Diesel engine to power the sweeper and sweep gear.
The Scarab Unidrive models were launched known as the Scarab Maxim.

1997

Unidrive Launch

Scarab launches a unidrive model - known as the Scarab Maxim
The Scarab Monic was launched, a sweeper built on a Isuzu chassis.

1999

Monic, Merlin & Magnum

The Scarab Monic was launched, a sweeper built on a Isuzu chassis.

The Scarab Merlin and Magnum range were introduced with redesigned hopper for better suction and performance.
The Scarab Magnum Plus was launched, our largest sweeper with options such as rear suction nozzles.

2001

Magnum Plus Launch

The Scarab Magnum Plus was launched, our largest sweeper with options such as rear suction nozzles.
The Scarab Mistral is launched.

2003

Scarab Mistral

The Scarab Mistral, with an auxiliary engine, is launched.

CANbus was introduced to the truck-mount range of sweepers.
The Scarab M6 is launched.

2006

Scarab M6

Scarab M6 - Scarab's first skid mountable road sweeper - goes into production.
CANbus 3.0 launched.

2010

CANbus 3.0 Launched

CANbus 3.0 launched across the Scarab range.

2011

The FAYAT Group

Scarab becomes a subsidiary of the Fayat Group.
The Scarab M25H

2015

M25H Replaces the Minor

The Scarab M25H is launched. This machine is a major redesign of the Scarab Minor.
The Scarab M65T is launched.

2015

M65T Launch

Scarab launches the M65T twin engine sweeper. This is available as a full build and a skid unit for export.
Scarab celebrates 40 years of building road sweepers.

2019

40th Anniversary

Scarab celebrates 40 years of building road sweepers.
Major investment into the Scarab factory to bring improvements to safety, quality and productivity. The factory re-organisation includes the introduction of a new dedicated After Sales centre.

2020

Facility Enhancements

The launch of the Maven 65 brings with it the next level of twin engine sweeping performance.

Maven 65 Launch

The launch of the Maven 65 brings with it the next level of twin engine sweeping performance.
Merlin U62 in Calgary, Canada.

2023

Single Engine Exports

In partnership with Canadian dealer, Cubex, Scarab delivers the first single-engine Merlin U62 skid unit for the City of Calgary.
